The Teddy in a Bag small shoulder bags with a fluffy white teddy in the large front pocket are popular Christmas gifts each year.
I’m always looking for new colours in crochet yarn to make these little bags, while keeping the most popular colours also.
So this year, as well as our dark pink sparkle and cream small bags (very festive small bags which are great for Christmas in particular),
and the always-popular rose pink and cream bags,
this year I have added new colours to the Teddy in a Bag range
I’ve already shown you the bright pink and white and the baby blue and cream shoulder bags,
but I’ve now added a light turquoise and cream selection too.
These small shoulder bags are great for children of all ages over 3 years. They have a deep front pocket as well as lots of room inside.
And everyone loves the fluffy teddy bears 🧸
At our fairs and markets running up to Christmas, these small bags, with a fluffy teddy bear in the front pocket, will retail at £5.00 each, so they make a great present which will be much appreciated and useful at the same time.
And with a lovely choice of colours, I think you will find at least one colour set to suit the small person you have in mind 😀.

Teddy in a Bag now has a list of Christmas Fairs we are doing this November and December.

I’ve kept the list on the linked page simple, with mainly words and few images, so that it is print friendly.

All the bags, beds and baskets shown here on Teddy in a Bag will be for sale at our markets and fairs, plus a few extras, including purses and bags for adults and other children’s gifts too.
The dates given on the Teddy in a Bag Christmas Fairs list are now confirmed, but there may be more to come later.
Just to give you a quick run down of fairs you will find there:
Our first Christmas Fair takes place this coming Saturday, 23rd November.
It’s the Salvation Army Christmas Fair which we do each year.
It’s a great beginning to the Christmas season. It’s a lovely, friendly fair, held in a very good cause, and I always look forward to this one.
Then there are two fairs the following week – Portsmouth Grammar Junior School Christmas Fair on Friday 29th November and Love Baffins Christmas Market on Saturday 30th November.
These are both big fairs where there will be lots of stalls and loads of ideas for Christmas presents (and hopefully you will come and see Teddy in a Bag there too 😀 ).
We attend two fairs again the following week:
St Judes School Christmas Fayre on Friday 6th December and St Swithun’s School Christmas Fair on Saturday 7th December.
These are school fairs which are open to friends, family and anyone who wants to share Christmas with the school children and their teachers and parents and enjoy a carol or two as well.
Great fun!
Then Teddy in a bag will be very busy the following weekend.
For three days – Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th of December, you will find Teddy in a bag at our own stall at Tesco, Fratton Park (The Pompey Centre), Portsmouth.
We will be in the foyer each day from 10am to 4pm alongside other craft and art stalls with lots to interest you for Christmas.
This is part of Tesco Fratton Park’s community engagement events and all Tesco profits from the craft market will be donated to local charities.
Just to add that Little Gifts of Southsea will also be at all of these events, often at an adjoining stall.
Little Gifts of Southsea sells Jewellery, Christmas Decorations, Keyrings, Handmade ornaments and much more, plus holds a lucky dip at School Fairs, so is well worth a visit too 😀 (you can also check out some of their stock on this page here: Sister Site Little Gifts of Southsea).
So that’s the confirmed list so far.

Some of the New Cradle Swings at Teddy in a Bag:
One of most popular items at Teddy in a Bag are the dear little cradle swings with a small teddy inside.
Ever since I began making the ‘teddy cradles’ late last year, they have been loved by fair goers of all ages.
I have also placed some online. You can still see them in the Elephant Sun Dog Etsy Shop and again soon on Ebay (But I’ll post an update when that happens).
And this year, there are new colours available in teddy cradles.
We now have lilac, shades of pink, sparkly red, sparkly purple, turquoise, shades of blue, and firm favourites – turquoise mix and lilac mix.
And I’m sure there will be more colours to come 🙂
As always, all the teddies wear a jaunty scarf in a colour to match their cradle.
These little hanging cradles with teddies inside truly make an ideal gift, because they can be hung beside the bed, or desk, carried around with you, simply played with, or, of course, hung as a present on a Christmas tree…. 🙂
At markets and fairs, cradles with a teddy inside remain at the price of £3.50 each.
