More Than Teddies This September!

I’ve been busy over the summer at Teddy in a Bag with summer markets and school fayres.
But now September is here, it is time to re-stock and to think about Christmas gifts (yes I know it’s a bit early but…  🙂 ).

There will be new Teddy Bags added here over the next couple of months, but in the meantime I’m stocking our Etsy Store (Elephant Sun Dog Etsy Store) with all sorts of different items as well as Teddy Bags (and patterns for teddy/toy bags too).

There are already quite a few Teddy bags in the store, including the popular little teddies in hanging cradle swings, teddies in gift sacks, teddies in crochet and cotton shoulder bags, teddies in moses baskets, and more.
And that is just a few of them.

But I’ve also been working hard making Christmas gifts for adults too.

I’ve added some of our store items in the side panel and I thought I would show you a few of them in this post.

There are quite a few shoulder bags. All individual designs and colours and all fully lined.
Plus cotton string market bags to carry in your pocket and use instead of plastic shopping bags.

There is a small range of baby blankets and cot blankets in pretty colours and designs, and also a lovely ‘bright sunshine’ snuggle blanket which children love.

As fun home decor for children and adults, we have some pretty wall hangings; some with dear little chubby owls and others with hearts or stars.

Then there is a great range of coaster sets and table sets (doilies with matching coasters).
These have so many different uses – from holding a warm coffee mug, or making an elegant party drinks setting, to making dressing table sets or just to have around the home as pretty decor.

I have also been busy making crochet patterns, mainly to put teddies in at the moment, but no doubt I’ll be making some new patterns soon.

New Lilac Crochet Backpack with Small Teddy

Another brand new backpack! This one is in a lovely shade of lilac with a silky lining inside the bag and in the front pocket.

And of course it comes with a small teddy snuggled down in the roomy front pocket.

This is one of a range of backpacks you will see at our Christmas fairs and markets.
I have them in lilac, baby blue, pink and Christmas red and cream.

Because they are handmade crochet items, backpacks do vary in size a little, but this one is pretty average and measures 9.5 inches in length and 7.5 inches in width (and will stretch a little more when filled).

Shoulder straps are each 14 inches long but will stretch a little to fit a child’s shoulders.

All backpacks are lined – inside the bag and in the front pocket.

And not forgetting the teddy. Teddies in backpacks are all 5 inch teddies with moveable arms and legs, so they can sit as well as stand (and lie down 🙂 ).

Medium backpacks like this are suitable for most children.
They are priced at £8.00 at fairs and markets. When posted to our Elephant Sun Dog Etsy Shop, they will cost £8.00 plus postage and packing and processing.

Pink Crochet Backpack With Matching Lining and Teddy

Backpacks make a gift which is useful as well as pretty and our crochet backpacks not only come in lovely colours, but of course every one has a small teddy in the front pocket.

Our backpacks are made in light rose pink (like the backpack here), baby blue, lilac, or red (a lovely colour for Christmas).

All backpacks have a cream trim and full cotton or silk lining to match the yarn colour used.

They have lots of room inside to carry toys, school books, or even to act as a pretty lunch bag, and the pocket is not only big enough to carry a 5 inch teddy, it is also roomy enough to take other items if you prefer.

At fairs and markets, each backpack with teddy will cost £8.00.

For anyone who wants to purchase one of these lovely backpacks, but cannot get to our fairs or markets in the Portsmouth area, I will also be adding them to the Etsy shop soon, but there will be an additional charge of £2.95 for postage, packing and processing when purchased there.

Hello Again From Teddy in a Bag!

I have been very busy over the summer, attending craft fairs and, of course, making new bags for teddies.

This picture is just a few of the new teddy bags I have made. And over the next few days, I will be sharing more.

There are some old favourites and some new designs as well. All made with love and very reasonably priced too.

Other news is that I now share an Etsy shop, called Elephant Sun Dog on Etsy, with my daughter, Crystal, who runs Little Gifts of Southsea.
So, please have a look if you have the time. You can see some of the other items I make, as well as Teddy Bags (although there are more of those at the moment 🙂 ).

We also run a shared blog called Elephant Sun Dog, where we talk about our craft makes and share crochet patterns too. So crafters might well find something they like there.

But in the meantime, I will take some more pictures of the new Teddy in a Bag stock and tell you more about it.
And hopefully we will then be all ready for Christmas! 🙂

 

Beginning the Christmas Season

I have been very busy lately, making new bags for Christmas Fayres, so updates have been quiet. You can actually see some of the bags I have made recently on the Teddy in a Bag Instagram feed, posted in the sidebar here as well.

But to keep you updated, here is a picture of the Teddy in a Bag display at the Salvation Army Christmas Fayre, this last Saturday. As you can see, there are plenty of bags, all different sizes, some crochet and some cotton and many in Christmas colours (and all with teddies in of course). The elephant print bags are particularly popular (elephants and teddies, what more could you want! 😉 ) and I have found a nice range of cotton fabric to make very pretty bags for Christmas gifts.

The next Christmas Fayre that Teddy in a Bag has a stall at is this coming Saturday (25th November), at the Love Baffins Fayre, in Tangiers Road, Portsmouth, so I’d better get back to making more bags right now!
